On the evening of October 27 we had the opportunity to train with Northville Fire Department. Positioned in the northwest hills of Connecticut, Northville has a plethora of wilderness interface. The Housatonic River flows through the town and thousands of hikers annually access the local trail system including the start of Connecticut’s section of the Appalachian Trail.

Being able to work efficiently at low angle is a necessity. This night we drilled on low angle skills, including knots, patient care and packaging, and mechanical advantage systems. We had the privilege of introducing Northville to the MPD and demonstrating how it would enhance efficiency.

Recently Northville has taken delivery of two MPDs and has greatly increased their services to the community.
