Arborist Rescue Symposium

September 18 @ 8:00 am - September 19 @ 5:00 pm

$495

This two day program is geared for first responders who may be faced with a ‘person in a tree’ emergency.  Designed with professional arborists, it’s heavily focused on arborist emergencies and will cover size-up, developing an IAP and making a go/no-go decision to begin rescue.  Despite being focused on arborist incidents, the skills taught are immediately applicable to all types of scenarios, from hang gliders to parachutists or protestors, or children stuck at height.  Students will learn the skills necessary to perform a bottom up rescue and will then be faced with complex rescue scenarios requiring planning and teamwork.

While there are no prerequisites it’s beneficial if students have a strong set of personal on-rope skills including self rescue techniques as well as the ability to ascend and descend a fixed vertical line.

PPE Required: Class 2 or 3 Rescue Harness, Eye Protection, Boots or sturdy closed-toe shoes
