Rope Technician

This 6 day program will cover all of the Job Performance Requirements of NFPA 1006 (2021ed) for Rope Rescue Technician. Students will be presented theory and the supporting practical skills necessary to perform as a technician level rope practitioner. This is an intensive hands-on course with heavy emphasis placed on developing critical thinking, rigging theory and personal on rope skills.  Upon completion of this course students would be eligible to take the Connecticut Fire Academy’s Certification for Rope Rescue Technician.  Details regarding this will be covered in class.

Course Pre-requisite: NFPA Awareness and Operations level rope training. This can be demonstrated through; (1) Previous training with Vector Rescue or another private company that meets awareness/operations JPR’s, with supporting documentation from company, (2) in-house training with supporting documentation from Chief of Department, (3) CFA Core attendance

PPE Required: Eye pro, closed toe shoes suitable for hiking.

Harnesses, Helmets and all other required gear will be supplied by Vector Rescue.  If students wish to use their own gear, it will be subject to approval by Vector Rescue staff.

Course Dates: April 29 and 30.  May 1, 6, 7, and 8.
